Roxborough State Park is filled with miles of great hiking trails, everything from short and easy to long and difficult. Each trail offers a unique view all its own.

Just a short drive southwest of Denver, lies Bear Creek Lake Park. This park is filled with things to make your weekend entertaining. Everything from fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, swim beach, and boat rental. Or you can take your own boat and float around on those extra hot days. Be sure to pack lots of sunblock!

Football season is just around the corner and Invesco at Mile High will be filled to the brim with tailgaters. Not a Bronco’s fan but still want to see the inside of the stadium? Tours are offered:

Public tours of INVESCO Field at Mile High are available for a fee and coordinated through the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Museum. Tours are available Tuesday through Saturday in June, July and August and Thursday through Saturday the rest of the year. Tours begin every hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are days when tours are unavailable, therefore, reservations are suggested.

No visit to Denver is complete without a photo of the peeping big blue bear. From VisitDenver.com:

The 40-foot high bear, which injects a welcome sense of fun and playfulness into the convention center experience, is the creation of local artist Lawrence Argent. It was installed just a few years ago in 2005, but has quickly become a bona fide Mile High icon – and a can’t-miss photo op for tourists and locals alike.

Located at the Convention Center, this guys is just a short walk south of the 16th St. Mall.

Jet-fuel cars make for an exciting weekend. Bandimere Speedway is just west of Denver and holds drag racing events most weekends throughout the summer. The drag strip backs up to the mountains so don’t forget your earplugs. If you are ever visiting around the 4th of July, they have a great event complete with fireworks.

Not in Denver, but this is a great day trip down to the Springs.
