Beautiful Sky

I couldn’t believe how light it was during our drive home at 5:30 this evening. The sky was full of color.
Treat Yourself for V-Day

This is the window treatment for the Oxford Spa located on 17th St. in LODO. I thought this was so cute and very appropriate for the upcoming holiday of love. I love all the details they put into the picture. Notice the candies in the soaking tub and the wine glasses with streamers. Doesn’t this bear look so comfy? The sign in the corner relays their message about a couples massage. The photo was taken around lunch so take note of the architecture in the window reflection.
The Snow is Melting

The snow is melting making for easier commutes and easier walks through Downtown.
Beautiful Snowy Day
Snow hit the Denver Metro area last night and is still falling as I type. CBS 4 is calling for more snow tonight making for a potentially horrible morning commute. Those are getting quite common for me.

I ventured out for a brief period at lunch today. This is the view of the sidewalk along Wynkoop St. in LODO.
Feed the Machine
For a good cause…

If you look closely, you will notice this is not an ordinary parking meter. I remember when I first moved to Denver, I kept thinking “why are there meters in the middle of the sidewalk?” Of course, I never really took the time to figure it out. Until today, that is. I got close enough to realize the top of the meter said Denver’s Road Home. This immediately caught my attention.
These meters are used to raise money to support the homeless who live in Denver. If you read the bottom, it says “Denver has an ambitious plan to end homelessness.” I am not sure if these meters actually work since I have never seen them say anything but 0.00. Perhaps next week I will throw in some change just to see. Interesting way to raise money, huh? I think it is pretty creative but I just wonder how productive it has been.
Dixon’s

Dixon’s was one of the first restaurants I ate at in Downtown. We had a gal’s luncheon for work and I instantly became a fan. The servers have always been excellent and we have never had a long wait. The food is delicious. My favorite meal for lunch is the California Chicken Sandwich. For a complete menu list, click here. For directions, click here. I can gurantee you will not be dissapointed.
Patriotic

What better photograph to commemorate Obama’s first full day in office?

A Little Journey
The weather here in Colorado has been amazing. Warm and sunny for a few days now and it is expected to continue through tomorrow. This weekend we decided to head down to Colorado Springs this past weekend and enjoy the outdoors at Garden of the Gods.
I know this is not “Denver” but I thought it was too nice not to share.
